Experiment
3 |
||||
Experiment 3 follows a similar pattern to the other two experiments. However, in this case, the users are presented with a highlighted menu that sometimes corresponds to the item asked to be found and other times not. For example, if the user is asked to find “apple”, the menu “people” would be highlighted. Once again, each user is timed and the user's sex, age, and computer experience are taken into consideration. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the effect of the highlighted and un- highlighted menus on the user’s attention. In other words, we are looking to see the effects on users of digital tools when asked to be "active users". In this way, we will be able to compare the results of this experiment and the results of the second experiment to those of the first experiment, in order to see whether users reacted better as "active" or "passive" users. |
